Chapel of Change, a Free Methodist church in Paramount, California, began as a vision Pastor Brian Warth received while serving a life sentence in prison. God clearly impressed upon him that he would start a church. When Brian was miraculously released from prison, God connected him with Pastor Larry Walkemeyer who was pastoring a Free Methodist church in Long Beach, California. Pastor Larry mentored Brian and his wife, Laura, and Chapel of Change eventually began as a small group of people meeting in Brian’s living room. Eventually, through God’s provision, an empty church building was sold to Chapel of Change at a large discount … another miracle when you consider property costs in the Los Angeles area! The Southern California Conference connected Pastor Brian with the Free Methodist Investment and Loan Fund at FM Financial to finance the purchase. The church continues to grow, change lives, and focus on a ministry of reconciliation and restoration in an urban context. FM Financial was honored to assist the congregation with financing again as they established residential discipleship homes for men and women.
