FM FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP TRANSITION
Retirement of Mark Olson
After 27 years of faithful service, Mark Olson will retire as President/CEO of FM Financial on May 19, 2027. During his tenure, FM Financial has grown significantly with assets under management now totaling nearly $700 million.
Mark began serving at FM Financial in 1999 as Vice President of the Free Methodist Investment and Loan Fund. During his years of leadership, the fund’s assets grew nearly tenfold. In 2009, Mark led the formation of GuideStream Financial, a registered investment advisory firm offering professional advisory and investment management services. Prior to being named President/CEO of FM Financial in 2022, Mark served as Executive Vice President.
Throughout his service, Mark has sought to build a unified team and has invested in the personal and professional growth of those he leads. Working with the board and staff, he helped clarify FM Financial’s mission, vision, and core values, further strengthening the organization’s commitment to Christ-centered dependence, biblical stewardship, excellence, collaboration, and trust. Never one to simply maintain the status quo, Mark earned his MBA from Spring Arbor University, the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation, and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA) designation while working, raising his family, and serving his community, all with his trademark optimism.
Mark will continue to serve FM Financial as President/CEO through May 19, 2027. In retirement, he looks forward to spending more time with his wife, Lisa, and their family, while continuing to pursue the three priorities that have guided his life: honoring God, focusing on family, and caring for people.
