In 2018, when Pastor Bryan Rees arrived at RockCreek Church in Marysville, Washington, he sensed God was calling the church to dream again. RockCreek needed a fresh vision – a renewed belief in what was possible through a church fully surrendered to the mission of helping people Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference. What followed was a season of renewed clarity, bold faith, and a fresh conviction about why the church exists.
As the vision became clear, people began responding. The church grew from around 80 people to more than 800 in just a few short years. And with that growth came a new challenge – how to make more room for people to encounter Jesus!
During that season, RockCreek acquired the former Arlington FMC building from the Pacific Northwest Conference. This new location created the opportunity to expand the mission, increase capacity, and make room for what God was doing. The Free Methodist Investment and Loan Fund was pleased to come alongside RockCreek as a ministry partner, helping provide financing for a complete remodel of this location.
This past Easter, the Arlington location officially opened and helped RockCreek welcome nearly 3,000 attendees across Easter weekend with 381 decisions to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior! People saying yes to Jesus, families finding hope, and lives being changed are all powerful reminders that when a church is clear on its purpose, when people unite around God’s vision, and when resources are aligned with mission, growth is no longer accidental. It becomes the natural (and supernatural) result of God at work.
Thank you to the investors in the Free Methodist Investment and Loan Fund who make stories like this possible!
